FROM THE HEART OF PASTOR LUTER
OCTOBER 2009
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I trust and pray that you and your family are doing well. It has truly been a busy time "ON THE AVENUE" since my last letter to you. Let me share with you some of the highlights:
**During the summer we had over six hundred volunteers from the Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio to help us with a very successful Vacation Bible School and a block party for the entire neighborhood.
**Our partnership with Samaritan's Purse to rebuild homes in the community is still going well with volunteers coming from all over the country.
**We had a great Women's Day and Conference with Pat Ashley. Our Women's Chorus did a great job as the Lord used them to bless us in both services.
**On top of all of that the Lord is adding each week to our church with additions from baptisms and believers joining FABC. On many Sundays we have to use the gym and the Byron Rene Johnson Choir Room to accommodate the overflow crowd.
Continue to keep us in your prayers as the Lord is gradually restoring our membership!
In closing, let me invite all of you to our Fall Revival which will be held Monday - Wednesday, November 2-4, 2009 at 7:00pm. We are truly excited about our preachers for this annual event:
Monday night: Pastor Bryan Carter, Concord Church, Dallas, Texas.
Tuesday night: Pastor Delbert Mack, Sr., Cathedral of Faith BC, Beaumont, Texas.
Wednesday night: Bishop Keith Reed, Sr., Sharon Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For those of you who can not join us in New Orleans, you can check out the revival "live" on the internet each night.
Finally, Elizabeth and I will celebrate 29 years of marriage this month! Can you believe that she has put up with me that long (smile)!! |
